Intro:
- Have you ever stepped out in faith in ministry, only to have it fail? How did you feel? How did it affect your faith? How did it affect further ministry?
- Moses was a loser. He saw himself as a loser.
- The nation of Israel was a bunch of losers & saw themselves as losers. So did everyone else except God.
- How much do you see yourself as a loser?
- Do you see yourself as an instrument of Christ to transform the campus/North Country/world?
- Do you see our church as an instrument of Christ of transformation?
- God does!
Thesis: We can learn how God can use us by looking at the example of Moses
- Moses
- Miraculous infancy [Mother & Father’s faith]
- Failure as deliverer Ex 2:11-15 [Killed Egyptian, rejected by his people; had faith but still failed]
- Poor Self-Esteem Ex 3 [Just because we fail, doesn’t mean God hasn’t been with us, or we haven’t done right]
- Found excuses to not minister
- Outright asked, “Lord, please use someone else”
- Moses Was Transformed by:
- Seeing God’s Power (Initial miracles of bush & snake, then while obeying: Red sea, manna, water, etc.)
- Walking Out God’s Vision (lots of problems & difficulties: Pharaoh’s hardness, Israel stubbornness )
- Experiencing God’s Presence (bush, mountain, tent of meeting) *face glowed Ex 33 & 2 Cor 3:1-18
